The sum of two consecutive even integers is 234. What is the larger integer? i dont get how to do this help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What would 2 consecutive even integers look like. If we call one of them 'x'. then the other one must be 'x+2'. Thus, x + (x+2) = 234 2x = 232 x = 116 Now be careful!! You want the larger one, which is represented by 'x+2'. So, your numbers are: 116, 118
