Evaluate the following limit. lim x->2 x-3/x-2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

don't you just put 2 in for x. so this answer would be undefined

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\lim_{x \rightarrow 2}\frac{ x-3 }{ x-2 }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok that's what I was thinking too?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nice

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in this case, you wouldn't be able to manipulate the equation in any way. so you would have to approximate it by subbing in numbers close to 2. and since the lim x- does not equal lim x+, the limit does not exist.

mean girls reference.

omg I totally thought of mean girls with this question. Thanks!! Who said you can't learn anything from that movie ;)
