how do you know how to write the formula for potassium dichromate? where does the 07 come from?

i don't think theres a way to know this but by memorization.. I'm pretty sure it's derived experimentally

we had to write the formulas for like 15 different compounds and the last one was potassium dichromate. i would have guessed it was KCr2....i dont see where the 0t at the end comes from @aaronq

ate means that it's usually combine with oxygen e.g. CO3 2- carbonate, ClO4 perchlorate, MnO4 permanganate, NO3 nitrate
