Find the common denominator which is 16, we get 25/16 - 24/16 = 1/16

@stnguyen can you tell me how to take LCM

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, in order to add or subtract two fractions with different denominators you need to find the LCD, we see that one denominator is 16 and the other is 2. We know that 2 can go into 16, 8 times so.... we can multiply 3/2 by 8/8 to get 24/16. We now have 25/16 - 24/16 and we can subtract them since they now have the same denominator.
