It is the theory that unifies electromagnetism and quantum mechanics, developed by Paul Dirac and other physicists and popularised by Richard Feynman in his lectures 'QED: The strange theory of light and matter' in which he develops the tool of the 'Feynmann diagrams' to explain how matter and electromagnetic field interact.
