Solve the system by graphing. ( I will attach a picture ) *

hero (hero):

@andreascott, where is your graphing calc?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't have one :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just solve them -2x = 2y -4 . . . y = -x +2 2x-y= -5 . . y = 2x+5 now plug in 0 for the equations and you will get it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

plug in 0 for x ?

hero (hero):

She needs to know which graphs are correct.

hero (hero):

Each set of graphs have the same solution point so solving the system won't help much.

hero (hero):

At best, you would only be able to narrow it down to two choices.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im wrong just add the equations -2x - 2y = -4 2x - y = -5 ---------------- -3y = -9 y = 3 no solve x

hero (hero):

However, @andreascott, if you had a graphing calc, you would easily be able to graph both equations and figure out which is correct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now*

hero (hero):

lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So , how am I supposed to figure it out. lol ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i gave you y plug it in one of the equations and solve for x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y = 3 lets say i want the 1st equation (-2x = 2y -4) -2x = 2*(3) -4 -2x = 6- 4 -2x = 2 x = -1 you get the set (-1,3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes , I get that . I just don't know how to graph it or watever. lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But, I know its the 1st one .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you got the graphs its a1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you . .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to check plug 0 for x y = -x +2 y = -0+2 = 2 (0,2) y = 2x+5 y = 2*0 +5 = 5 (0,5)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its better for you to try these problems and post how far you got so we can help you understand it
