How would i write this as an equation? "The sum of 9 times a number, and 6, is equal to 8 times the number." Thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the sum => add the next two terms 9 times a number => 9x and 6 => 6 is equal to => = 8 times the number => 8x There's a translation, see if you can put it together now.

i had x(9x+6)=8x...makes sense now !

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The answer should be (9x+6) = 8x, I don't know how you got that x in the beginning. Had it said, a number multiplied by the sum of 9 times... then you would be correct.

idk...off day ...thank you
