is the function h(x)=1-cosx even odd or neither and why

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Even. Even functions follow the form:\[f(x) = f(-x)\] The values on either side of the vertical axis are mirrored. Cos(x) is an even function and since flipping it vertically and adding one to it doesn't cahnge the horizontal component it is also 'even'. To test sub any number into the function, then sub the negative number into the function, you should obtain the same result.
