Would like to learn about using Python on the XO. Can I program on the XO system or do I have to program "for" the XO, using a Linux or Windows machine?

OpenStudy (rsmith6559):

Python is a cross platform language. If you can get an interpreter for the system, you can write Python on any system, and if you stay with generic stuff, run it on any other system. I wrote a program on my Linux box for the Macs and PCs at work and had to make trivial changes so that it looked pretty everywhere.

Thanks for clarifying this, rsmith6559. I will check on the olpc pages if a Python interpreter for Linux can be installed on the XO.
