Simplify (12x^2 y^2 +9y^4) - (-15x^4 - 6x^2 y^2 + 9y^4)

OpenStudy (kirbykirby):

Because of the negative in front of (-15x^4 - 6x^2 y^2 + 9y^4), you have to change the signs inside the parentheses

OpenStudy (kirbykirby):

(15x^4 + 6x^2 y^2 - 9y^4) so we get 12x^2 y^2 +9y^4 + 15x^4 + 6x^2 y^2 - 9y^4 = 18x^2y^2 + 15x^4

oh ok, thanks a lot!
