y=x-7 and y=-2+5

OpenStudy (geometry_hater):

What are you trying to do?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=x-7 y=-2+5 . is this what u mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you solving for x ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if y=x-7 and y=-2+5 they are both equal to eachother so x-7=-2+5 which x then equals x=7-2+5 x=10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and then you can plug x=10 back into the equation to find y so y=10-7 y=3 and to check this you can plug in y=3 to either equation y=-2+5 (3)=3 which is correct
