Take the derivative: 2x-16 Set it equal to zero... 2x-16=0 We find the x=8 Plug x=8 into the original equation... 8^2 -(16*8)+73=9 so...y=9 and x=8

To take the derivative for these types of functions... If you have x^2, just move the 2 down in front... 2x and 16x is just 16. 99x is just 99. 1000x is 1000.
