Solve for possible values of x: -4x^2+2x+7=-5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did you do it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Add -5 to 7. \[-4x ^{2}+2x+12=0\] You now have a Quadratic equation, use the quadratic formula to get the values of X which are \[x=-\frac{ 3 }{ 2 } and x=2\] Check for an extraneous solution( plug in both X's to see which equals 0) -3/2 IS extraneous. The anwser is \[x=\]

\[x=2\]
