What is the difference between an irrational number and an integer

OpenStudy (alexwee123):

The set of Integers includes all of the Natural numbers, their opposites, and 0. The integers proceed to infinity in both the positive and negative directions. { ... -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3 ...} and Irrational numbers are those numbers which CANNOT be represented as the quotient of a pair of integers. One of the first Irrational numbers of which a student typically becomes aware is Pi. Pi is often represented as 3.14, but this is only an approximation. It is impossible to ever finish writing the decimal expansion of Pi.
