i just got registered a couple of hours ago and i received the confirmation mail. i have a couple of questions to ask;
1. lectures have already started how do i get to make up for what i missed?
2. how do i have to know when am suppose to be in a session, am feeling i have got to be online almost all the time?

I assume that you registered for the edx MIT 6.00x class.

The only thing you need to do is go through the lectures for week 1 and 2. Be aware that the deadline for the Problem Set 2 is the coming Monday.

Apart from that, you don't need to be constantly online. The lectures are there and you can watch the whenever is convenient for you. But you need to be aware of the deadlines for the various problem sets.

Problem Set 2 that Chris mentioned is due Monday is the first Due Date so it should not be much problem to catch up.
