look at the parabola part of the graph. Ignore the part before that. The parabola is curving up, so it has to have a positive leading coefficient.

That leaves you with options D and E

Now the parabola starts 4 units below the x axis, thus it has to be 2x^2 - 4, if it started above the x axis you would have +4 instead of -4, so that leaves you with E
