how to solve this answer?????????? ( solve for x and give the aNswer in intervAl form) i) x^2+7x-8≤0 (ii)....3...... > ..1.. |1-2x| 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for the first one... x^2 + 7x - 8 ≤ 0 (x+8) (x-1) ≤ 0 <<<--- factor the expression Then what x values will create a zero or a negative on the left of the inequality? 1) x greater than or equal to -8 makes (x+8) ≤ 0 2) x less than or equal 1 makes (x-1) ≤ 0 So the interval for x that makes the inequality true is "x greater than or equal to -8, x less than or equal to 1" -8 ≤ x ≤ 1 Does that make sense?
