When you solve the equation x+9=15, how do you know what number to subtract from both sides? Why is it important to subtract the same number from both sides of the equation?

subtract 9 from both sides so X is alone, and we do both sides so they don't become uneven if they become uneven then they wouldn't be equal now would they?

i just said this...if i only took 9 from one side it wouldn't be equal anymore WHATEVER you do one side you must do to the other side to make it stay even
