how to do decimal to percent on this calculator....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

multiply by 100.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (amistre64):

that really is not a very good picture of the calculator; it lacks any fine details to be able to read its buttons

OpenStudy (amistre64):

but yeah, multiplying a decimal by 100 gives you the percent format of it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok wait lol....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i don't have a picture but the calculator has a percent to decimal button and all the rest is like a regular calculator

OpenStudy (amistre64):

what is the name of the calculator?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

one min

OpenStudy (amistre64):

ive got a ti83 :) i see the % button, what do you get as a menu when you hit the math key?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i don't have the calculator with me..its at school

OpenStudy (amistre64):

oh, then i wont be able to try any of my ideas out :)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

are you trying to make a decimal into a percentage? or just trying to see if it has a predefined function that will do that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i am just seeing its it has a predefined function

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you have to do on ur calculator to get it

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i dont have a predefined function; so if i need to change a decimal to a percent; i just multiply the decimal by 100; for example: .36 * 100 = 36 , therefore the decimal (.36) is the same as (36%)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

im not sure if this is a user manual for the ti73, but its got alot of stuff on it. I did a search for percent and it did not show a predefined function tho http://www.framingham.edu/~smabrouk/Ictcm/Exploring_the_TI-73_Explorer.pdf

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you do for the repeating decimals??

OpenStudy (amistre64):

ive been doing this so long that ive actually memorized a few of the repeaters; but you can use the F<-->D on your calculator to swap from decimal to fraction.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

.13666666..... = 13.666666.... %, and 0.66666.... is just 2/3 sooo = 13 2/3%

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks :)
