OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk which one... :( please explain? :D thanks!!! :D

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

I'm reading that rome was a republic and not a democracy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what does that mean?? :/ idk

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cuz its asking about its modern contributions to democracy.... like does that mean what it has helped us with NOW? :O

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

well i think it's more of a representative democracy because that's what republics are in a sense

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh and i read this: a republic is a from of government in which citizens elect representatives to make laws and govern on their behalf.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*form not from sorry

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

yeah so i think rome was one of the first to do that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so because they elect people to make laws and govern on their behalf instead of doing it directly, the answer is GROUP A?? representative democracy, etc??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is that it?? what do you think? :D

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

yes I'm thinking group A as well

OpenStudy (anonymous):

awesome!! thanks!! it makes more sense to be group a now :D

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

it can't be B because not everyone was allowed to vote (eg: slaves or people outside of rome)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhh i see :) thanks!!! :D
