No rainbow could be observed from the surface of moon by the astronauts . what could be the possible reason?
please help me to come out from my problem
tiny water droplets makes the refraction of the sunlight to rainbow colours. there might be lack of moisture in the moon's atm so they might not found the rainbow in it
The question is a little off, but I think I understand what they are trying to say. The Moon lacks an atmosphere, this means that water droplets will most likely not form around the Moon. You need these water droplets an order for light to reflect internally within them for a rainbow to be visible. Now, here is the contradiction. You could always spray water into the Moon's sky and possibly produce a rainbow or you could just use a super telescope and view a rainbow on the Earth from the Moon! Or if you are really desperate, the person on the Moon could just look at an image of a rainbow in a magazine or on the computer. LOL!
