Find a model for simple harmonic motion if the position at t=0 is 5 centimeters, the amplitude is 5 centimeters, and the period is 4 seconds.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think a cosine model would be easiest.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you know how to find the period of a cosine function?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ya. I know the model is either d=5cos(pi/2t) or d=5sin(pi/2t). I just could't figure out whether to use cos or sin

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Either one will work, but cosine is simpler (doesn't require a phase shift).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k, thank you very much
