Given that the points form a figure with 4 right angles, do the points (2,2( (12,2), (12,-50) and (2,-5) represent the vertices of a square or a rectangle? Explain.

take out the distance of between all four coordinates and and then distance between the diagonals of the if all four distances are equal and the the diagonals are equal then it is a square use distance formula d=\[d=\sqrt{(x2-x1)^2 + (y2-y1)^2}\]

That is supposed to be (2,-50) not (2,-5) right?

Assuming that is the case, u do not need the distance formula, a quick and dirty sketch plot will give u the answer.
