Why do people not like welfare systems?

OpenStudy (anonymous):
Because the people who hates it believe welfare systems promote the "lazy" as in people who become solely dependent on the systems and not finding ways to get out of it. Also another reason is welfare systems are often funded with tax payer's money, which essentially is people working paying for people who don't.
