Robert is drawing out the triangles to make them congruent by making each of the angles and sides equal to each other, therefore they are congruent (equal to each other)

You will need a ruler and pair of compasses.
measure the side BG 

then draw a line that is the length of BG.   Call it AO

next get a compass and open it to the length of BY

with the compass open the length of BY... it the point of the compass on the vertex A and draw an arc. 

Next, back to the BGY. Open the compass to the length GY. 

Back to the segment AO

Place the point of the compass on the Vertex O and draw an arc that intersects with the arc 1st arc, this will be the vertex P

Get the ruler and join A to P and O to P.... the triangle AOP will be congruent to BGY
