Look at the figure. What is the value of x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

30 40 10 20

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm almost positive it's not the first one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3x-10 = 180-70

OpenStudy (anonymous):

?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

.. 3x = 120 x= 40

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ah, I see what your saying now!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How did you figure that out?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

two indicated angles in my draw are equal .. the same goes with your problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

since 70 is 180 minus the equal angle we get 180-70 = 3x-10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh, so that's where that comes in play...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in your problem angle DCF = angle CBE

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but DFC = 180 - 70

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks! I understand now.
