The mass of a full bottle of cooking oil is 1.30 kg. When exactly half of the oil has been used, the mass of the bottle plus the remaining oil is 0.90 kg. What is the mass of the empty bottle:

(a): 0.40 kg

(d): 0.80 kg

you can calculate the mass of used oil-
1.30-0.90=0.40
so mass of used oil is 0.40 and we know that oil used is half of all oil which was in bottle. 0.90 is mass of bottle and half of entire oil
so 0.90-0.40=0.50 kg bottle is 0.50 kg
answer is B.
