I got the derivative function incorrect but somehow I miraculously got the f'(-pi/4) correct...can anyone please explain what happened?

you have calculated f'(x) wrongly.. d/dx (xsinx) = sin x + xcos x.. do you get it ? same for xcosx

I'm not sure i understand how you got those...i'm not very confident with derivatives of trig identities...

you'll have to apply product rule here.. 2 functions of x are involved there,,1 is x,,other is sin x
