Why are my notifications going up slow?

I reached 199 notifications about a week ago, and I have to get 5-10 notifications before it goes up by 1. I say this because I was at 199 and got a few notifications, and it didn't go up to 200 until I got a recent notification.

So, I think what you're seeing is the effect of compounding notifications. Which is to say, not all notifications result in a new notification object. Fan notifications and replies to the same question are groups for the purposes of the notification display and count.

If you don't, I'm just going to start resetting the count in the DB. I suspect your page will start to slow down before you reach a number you find satisfactory. :P
