What is the derivative of f(x)=(sqrt2)^(cos(x))

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Do you remember how to take the derivative of exponential functions that don't have a base of e? If not, you might have to use logarithmic differentiation! :D Take the natural log of both sides to start.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Take ln both sides

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I did the exponential function derivative and it still said it was wrong

zepdrix (zepdrix):

|dw:1350240624707:dw| Is that what you came up with? Don't forget to multiply by the natural log of the base when your base is not e!! :D
