OpenStudy (babyslapmafro):

How do you factor the following...

OpenStudy (babyslapmafro):

\[x ^{3}+12x ^{2}+36x\]

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

here's a hint.. \[\huge x(x^2 + 6x + 6x + 36)\] does that help?

OpenStudy (babyslapmafro):

yeap thanks

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

welcome

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

remember...you still have to factor out x^2 + 6x + 6x + 36

OpenStudy (babyslapmafro):

x(x+6)^2

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

right

OpenStudy (babyslapmafro):

ok how about this one... x^3-3x^2-4x

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

break down the middle term again... \[\huge x(x^2 - 4x + x - 4)\]

OpenStudy (babyslapmafro):

ok, was not sure how to break that down again...one moment

OpenStudy (babyslapmafro):

x(x-4)(x+1)

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

right

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

i have to leave now...so if you have more questions...post it as a new question

OpenStudy (babyslapmafro):

ok thanks for the help
