A bag contains 5 blue marbles 4 white marbles and 3 red marbles all identical except for color. If 3 marbles are chosen randomly without replacement, what is the probability that the marbles will be the same color?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks alot and is C(5,3) the same as 5!/(3!*2!)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if my memory serves me correct 5! implease watys to arrange or goup correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea i think its 5! is the number of items in the group 3! is the number you choose and 2! is the number left over, thats just what i think though for probability where order doesnt matter

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes the order wont matter in this case..but that would be a fun question if it did :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes I agree i think the way i did it the first time was like that thats why I got it wrong.
