A. Number of multiples of 6 between 100 and x+100 B.Number of multiples of 9 between 100 and x+100. Which one (A or B) is greater....can any body help me

OpenStudy (compassionate):

number of multiples of 6 = 16 number of multiples of 9 = 11

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Which is greater, 16 or 11?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did you get this??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

counting is one way

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if a number is a multiple of six it must be divisible by 2 and by 3 if you are starting at 100 first one would be 102 then every 6th number after that 102,108,114,...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

another way is to say that every 6th number is divisible by 6, and \(100\div6=16\tfrac{2}{3}\) so there are 16 of them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you so much .then what abt 9?
