11y -3x=18 -3x=-16y+33 systems of linear equations how do you slove these two equations by using elimiantion

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why don't we start by doing one crucial rewrite which may open it up to you -3x=18-11y is the first equation -3x=-16y+33 is the second equation It is a long shot but that may have been enough and I prefer to allow you to do most of the work that way you can learn but please let me know if you need more help which you probably will.

so i just wanna rewrite the second equation to line up with the first question to eliminate?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes :)

thanks i got it :)

sorry my computer shut down my browser here is what I was going to post yes. Sometimes there is an extra step where you need to multiply one of the equations by a scalar in order to get one of the variables to cancel but you lucked out with this question and do not have to.
