Solve this sentence. | 2x + 1 | = 10 x = or x =

myininaya (myininaya):

|f(x)|=a where a>0 => f(x)=a or f(x)=-a

myininaya (myininaya):

|f(x)|=a where a<0 => no solution

myininaya (myininaya):

|f(x)|=a where a=0 => f(x)=0

myininaya (myininaya):

So which one do you have here? 1st, 2nd, or 3rd?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1st

myininaya (myininaya):

Right since 10>0 :) so we have |f(x)|=10 which implies f(x)=10 or f(x)=-10

myininaya (myininaya):

2x+1=10 or 2x+1=-10 All you have to do is solve both of these equations for x.

okay i get it thank you so much

myininaya (myininaya):
