are you sure it's not a negative one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm positive.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

t/3 - t/2 = 1 multiply each term by the least common multiple of 2 nd 3 (which is 6) so, t/3 = 2t/6 and t/2 = 3t/6 now you can combine the numerators (because the denominators are now the same) so you have (2t-3t)/6 = 1 multiply both sides by 6 2t-3t = 6 pull the t out : t(2-3)=6, so t*(-1) =6 then divide by -1 t=6/-1 = -6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{ t }{ 3 } - \frac{ t }{ 2 } = 1 \] find an lcd which is 6 then combine like terms

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It can't equal -6 The answers are 4.1 5.0 4.2 4.5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you looking for t?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(2t - 3t )/6 = 1 -t = 6 t = - 6
