Describe the process to construct an obtuse isosceles triangle with vertices PQR using only a compass and straightedge, where Q is a point on a horizontal line segment XY.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh wait.. draw a line parallel to xy that is the same length and label it PR. then connect P to Q and R to Q. make sure the angle formed by PQR is larger than a right angle

Listen, I don't recommend looking for answers on here regarding written explanations. For this SAME question I looked for answers outside the lesson, and got in trouble. Afterwards, I went back over the lesson and videos and you have no idea how much easier it became. Sorry if this wasn't what you were asking for but I'm giving you my best advice, based on what I already went through.

Let me guess, Florida Virtual?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

YES! :l

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yep :/ But really I suggest you look at the video they gave...and do it yourself on a paper. Thats the only way I could understand it. Written out doesn't work as well to learn constructions.

ok :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wish u the best on the test btw (:

thanks jazy :)
