You select a card at random from the cards that make up the word “replacement”. Without replacing the card, you choose a second card. Find the probability of choosing a consonant and then an “e”. There is 1 letter for each card.

So there are 11 letters in total, and 7 consonants. so you have 7/11 probability of chosing a consonant first. you have 1 chance in 11 of picking each consonant, and 7 to choose from, so you have 7 chances in 11, hence 7/11. now you need to pick a second card. Since you already picked a card you now have 10 cards left. There are 3 letter "e"'s so you have 3 chances in 10 to pick a letter e. so you need to pick a consonant 7/11 then you need to pick a letter e 3/10 so you have (7/11) * (3/10) = 21/110
