Write a sentence that explains how you can compare integers, using a number line.

Number lines just help you visualize everything. But before we can use them to compare integers, we have to understand what an integer is. An integer is ANY negative or positive number that is whole. So, for example, 4, -4, 3, -3, 2, -2, are all integers, but -4.1,4.1,3.1,-3.1, are not integers. Now, when you graph an integers on a number line, you can count the distance from one to the other. So, with 6 an -4, there are 10 numbers between the two numbers, which is more clearly visible when you plot them on a number line. A number line can also be useful when you are adding and subtracting. For example, -4 +6, you graph -4, and then you move in the positive direction (right) 6 spaces. Try to sum up what I just told you, and it may make it a little easier to write just one sentence to explain. Good luck :)
