Systems of equations make a lot of people tear their hair out, but as long as you remember that there are two says to solve for systems, and you can use either, just carefully apply all the algebra you have learned so far, and you can find the answer.
For this system, elimination seems like the best tactic. If you dont know what elimination is, google is your friend.

Multiply the first equation by -2

4x+2y=-2

Now, The 4x and -4x cancel out, and usually you can solve for Y, and everyone is happy. The problem here is that the -4x and 4x cancel out, but the 2y and -2y also cancel out.
This will leave you with 0=1. And unless you are living in the matrix, 0 does not equal 1, and therefore there are no solutions.
