Predict how the removal of an herbivore from a food web could affect the entire community?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, herbivores mainly eat plants. And then there are other animals that eat the herbivores. If we take out the herbivores, then nothing would be there to eat the plants. So, the population of plants would increase, because nothing is eating them. Does that make sense? At the same time, since the herbivores are gone, the animals that normally eat herbivores would have nothing to eat. And so, they would die. Their population would decrease.
