Suggestion: LINKIFY!
Long links don't look too fancy in an answer, so there should be a linkify with this format: [text]( http://blahhyperlink.com/ net/edu/org) which shows only text... not the hyperlink.
@jagatuba will surely love that idea....if you know what i mean....
XD
Yeah, you can write some other link in the text place... ;)
Is this being implemented or is this just a suggestion at this point.
I'm not even sure.
It would be nice to, for example, to be able to reply to a question: "I actually wrote a lengthy article on that subject. You can read it on my blog, [Tips From the Tech]( http://tipsfromthetech.blogspot.com). " and have it just neatly display a hyperlink in the reply. I have seen this done on other forums, but only by allowing HTML in replies. The only drawback being that this can create a vulnerability to SQL injection attacks if it is not implemented properly. However, creating a bit of code to run on the site that takes a key trigger like something enclosed in a certain symbol (i don't like brackets since I use them occasionally) would eliminate this risk. Something similar to how the posts distinguish LaTeX.
