Question

i was working with "cat" comman
nd at one instance it jus pressed a cat and mention any name....
and it gave smthin like this
whateva i type is diplayed again!!
any explanation for this?

cat ConcATenates the input that it's given and outputs it to stdout. Usually, it's used to combine files. In your example, it's acting like echo. Look at the man page:

man cat
