Please help, I keep getting a weird answer What is the value of x? a. 10o b. 25o c. 30o d. 120o

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

What's your weird answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I've tried 5x-25=4x and I got x=25 but it wouldn't make sense because the question after the one above is. If x equals 25 then angle one would equal 100 degrees What is the measure of angle 1? 45o 60o 120o 125o

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

Can't open your file, btw, didn't you have a link for that earlier?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And I've also tried (x+30)+(5x-25)=180 and I kept coming up with a decimal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I can post it again, one second

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

OK, a hint don't let that (5x + 25) distract you, it is of no significance here :)

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

(5x - 25) rather

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

Those two lines with the red arrowheads are parallel, yes?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sooo x=30?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and yes they are parallel

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

Then, the angle measuring 4x degrees and the angle measuring x + 30 degrees are...?

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

Oh, you already got it, x = 30.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah hahaha thank you so much!!

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

No problem :)

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

That other line is probably for another question, or fiendishly placed to distract you :)
