How do you write the inverse of f(x) = 3x - 1 f -1(x)

Parth (parthkohli):

In inverses, the \(\rm x\) becomes \(\rm y\).\[\rm x = 3y - 1\]Solve for \(\rm y\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

replace x with y and put it equal to x x= 3y-1 solve for y that is the inverse

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So would it be log3x- 1?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

I'm not use to this kind I'm use to the one's that already have log in it so what's different in finding these ones?
