multiply out the brackets on the right first
then collect all the x's together. then factor the x out.

multiply out the right side, so -2 times 4x and -2 * 10

get the x's together and everything else on teh other side so add 8x to both sides and subtract 7 from both
divide by 9 to leave x on its own
