7/12 divided by 4?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{ 7 }{ 12 }\div \frac{ 1 }{ 4 }\] you multiply by the reciprocal so: \[\frac{ 7 }{ 12 } * \frac{ 4 }{ 1 }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4 is the same as 4/1. When dividing fractions, you flip the second one to its reciprocal, and mulitiply. so... 7/12 divided by 4/1 is the same as 7/12 * 1/4 Just multiply straight across
