What evidence supports the theory that human life began on the continent of Africa?

Many of oldest fossil records relating to human evolution and ancestry were found in Africa making it seem plausible that it is the "cradle" from which we came from. It's still a theory since someone could find an even older "missing link" somewhere else in the world to dispute it, but right now based on what we know, Africa is the widely accepted scientific point of origin.
