Solve the proportion

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{ 8 }{ m+3 }=\frac{ 4 }{ m }\]

OpenStudy (strawberry17):

You would first cross multiply, and get: 8m = 4(m + 3) 8m = 4m + 12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And then subtract 4m from both sides?

OpenStudy (strawberry17):

Then, you would subtract 4m from each side: 8m = 4m + 12 -4m -4m --------------- 4m = 12

OpenStudy (strawberry17):

and last divide each side by 4.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay Thanks! :D

OpenStudy (strawberry17):

your welcome :)
