please help me!! Flying fish use their pectoral fins like airplane wings to glide through the air. Suppose a flying fish reaches a maximum height of 5 ft after flying a horizontal distanceof 33 ft. Write a quadratic function y=a(x-h)^2+k that models the flight path assuming the fish leaves the water at (0,0). Describe hoe the changing value of a,h, or k affects the flight path.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(33, 5) are the coord.s of the vertex.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did you get that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

maximum height

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ooh the vertex of the parabola got it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

use that and the point (0,0) to find a

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how? substituting it in?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would that be the answer? or how do i set up the equation fully? just plug in it in for all of them?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no dont leave me here!!!

did you find a?
